Stock Category allows consumables replacements.

Mufflers/exhausts rust out, shocks wear out, air filters, plugs, wires need to be changed.

The one performance modification allowed specifically is a front swaybar.

A typical stock class E30 autox car might consist of Koni sports, (standard replacement) a 25mm IE front swaybar, a performance alignment (there may be a factory authorized procedure for adjusting camber up front, and if so this would be legal in stock), an extra set of wheels and R-compounds.

While not legal here a Euro E30 with the 15x8 weeves, and a freshly rebuilt LSD would actually make a nice GS car.

A fully prepped Stock class car would add a free flowing, light cat-back exhaust, light stock sized wheels, a fresh rebuilt LSD, fresh NGK plugs, K&N filter, performance plug wires, RedLine fluids.
Jack/spare can be removed.

Street Touring opens up a bunch more allowances. In this case I'll refer everyone to here.
But in a nutshell=springs, swaybars, shocks, camber plates, bushings, light battery, race seats, emissions legal header, CAI, cam gear, class specific maximum width wheels, and street tires......See below for a general idea.

Street Prepared.

This is my favorite class. Many modifications are allowed, but the really big $$ stuff isn't allowed. This can cut down on the fun factor. But it can also increase fun factor by not placing you against someone with huge $$ in an E36 M3, Evo etc, which is what Street Modified can, and does have in it.

To paraphrase one of the important allowance in Street Prepared.....Update/Backdate.
This has to happen between car models on the same line in Apendix A in the rule book. They are listed as I listed them above in Street Prepared.

What this means is that all E30 325's can exchange equipment with one another. For instance if you are starting out with a 325e, you could swap the I/IS engine for more power. IS models, typically fully loaded, can de-option the car to reduce weight.
There are usually lots of options to reduce weight on a car that has been built for several years.

A quote from the rule book on the subject.

Equipment and/or specifications may be exchanged between
different years and models of a vehicle if (a) the item is standard
on the year/model from which it was taken, and (b) the years/
models are listed on the same line of Appendix A (Street Prepared
Classes). The updated/backdated part or the part to which
it is to be attached may not be altered, modified, machined or
otherwise changed to facilitate the updating/backdating allowance.
Standard factory installation methods, locations, and configurations
are allowed. The updating and/or backdating of
engines, transmissions or transaxles must be done as a unit;
component parts of these units may not be interchanged. Cars
not listed in the Street Prepared sections of Appendix A may not
be updated/backdated until approved by the SEB and published in
the official SCCA publication.

I'd think something like SM probably. With all the mods you've got, that what I would think.

I'm looking over doing one of these events. So it looks like I would have to run "street mod" because:

I have M3 fenders and no power steering? can the M3 fenders be considered flares? Plus I have the 4.1 lsd so not quite sure...

I always wanted to go to a real track and was saving/preparing for that, but the auto x is much more practical cause its only 40 min away vs 3 hours for Firebird track in Phoenix...

Could be fun!
