Has to be that something got bent from the accident. Have you inspected the subframe for any damage?

Before you pull it apart measure center to center of the front/rear wheels on each side.

I'm guessing you plan to use the full E46 suspension on the front?

very nice write up. I am currently doing this swap. Just ordered the eccentric bushings. I looked up the adjustable strut tops. but damn are they expensive! $350!!! anything else out there that's cheaper? also what model do I get them for? it makes sense to use the e30 ones. but wasn't sure, and im planning on using my e30 rack. Can we just summarize one more time what I need to make these work? also what coilovers do you guys use? got a little confused with all the other posts and questions. thanks in advance!

strut tops like camber plates? Any camber plates for E30s will work. With the control arm swap, the rest stays the same (e30 parts). You just want the camber plates to get rid of all the negative camber. I don't think you NEED them. But if you like having -5 degrees of camber... stay stock for now?

Simplest explanation:
E46 control arms
Some way to fix caster
- AKG hex bushing (yoshi doesn't recommend)
- Round control arm nub (machine preferred or angle grinder) and get M3 offset cabs (THR or stock lollipop)
E90 inner tie rods
E36 outer tie rods
Camber plates to fix camber.

The control arm did.( wishbone) but with a eccentric bushing in the back. And I'm going to have to install camber plates on the strut towers.

Only control arm. The spindle and what not is very different than the E30s and will fuck up your geometry. I haven't seen measurements but I wouldn't blindly slap it on and go. It will bolt up though.

So ive been a little confused on this. I have an e36 rack and what looks like the exact same arms, but for the cab, do i need just the offset rubber piece?
Like these http://www.iemotorsport.com/bmw/E30-suspension-steering/e30frdelrinbush.html

or do i need a new bushing bracket too?

You have to use the bushing bracket for the E30 as the E46 bolts up differently. The problem with the E46 arm is that they are hex style. AKG makes a bushing but it's not offset so you'll lose caster. Or you can round it out till it fits in that bushing you linked above. Personally, I got the THR style solid nylon one and rounded out the control arm to fit.

Oh ok, i just wanted to be sure i could use my brackets, I did notice you grinding down the arms, that shouldnt be a problem. And i guess i can resell the e46 lolis since they definitely wont fit.

And it seems like there was quite a discussion about the tie rods. I have a full e36 rack. Will using just the e36 rods work or do i need to get e90 inner rods too?
