Might still be under warranty. I have like 6 spare batteries of questionable ability lol.

I doubt it. I think I got it from walmart. I have no idea where the papers are for it. I think I got it when i first bought the car. So it is more than a couple years lol. Time flies.

do you have a jump box, or charger with 'start' setting?

Nah. I'll probably try jumping it off before investing in another battery. Just to be sure.

The verdict is, the battery is toast. When we jumped it off it would turn over. When disconnected from the other vehicle it wouldn't even try. Also I think the fuel might have went bad. I know it can sour from sitting. It tried to crank and would start fror a few seconds but it would run horribly rough. Like it was only running on a couple cylinders. Then it would die. So I need to get a new battery and try to drain the tank i guess.

Thanks. Yeah the battery isn't cheap but its easy to swap. I'm hoping its just the fuel that it the problem. Its the first step at least and it needs to be drained. It looked pretty cruddy when I had the pump out

I hated relining the tank in my Javelin but it was well worth it, just lots and lots of terrible fuel on me and my face and my skin and in my mouth... I seriously meant good luck :D

You can smell if the fuel has gone bad, its a distinct smell thats nothing like fresh gas. How much is in there? Can you just top it off with some premium? If the battery is that dead it could be the cause for the rough running. If the ECU doesn't get full voltage it won't run right. I'd swap in a good battery and try it before going through draining the tank.

There isn't that much in the tank. Its pretty low. But there is alot of junk in there too so ot probably wouldn't be a bad idea to just drain it anyways. Once I get a new battery I'll try it again to see if there is any difference. I didn't notice any strange smell but I wasn't really looking for it either so I'm not sure. It wouldn't surprise me though. Its been a while since I've cranked it up.

Meh, if you aren't loosing much I would drop it and drain it and clean it, especially since you gotta get the battery and such but Tony is right in that gas that has fouled smells, well, fouled : )

With all the tank drain plug horror stories, I guess I'm afraid I'll strip it out. There isnt really that much fuel in it. Might try putting a few good gallons in it to see if it makes a difference.
