Look what FINALLY showed up at my house after 3 damn weeks! Let's hope their product is much better than their communication. *crosses fingers*

Oooo shiney! Definitely let us know how that guibo feels, curious how much it changes NVH and such.

Rule number 1, do not reuse old damaged bolts. All my nuts vibrated off and I almost lost my driveshaft on the highway. Had to order a bushing rebuild kit because I lost 2 of the bushings and 2 of the metal spacer thingies. My second revshift order came MUCH faster than the first, and also included blue poly motor and trans mounts. If I ever get a weekend that I'm not completely exhausted from working over 70 hours each week I'll get everything installed along with my new plugs, wires, control arms, aluminum intake elbow, and whatever else I'm forgetting about. Also need to fix my drivers window switch again. I think one of my splices came loose in the center console so I'm gonna rip out all the wire and reconnect it better.

Man, I haven't updated this thread in a while. I have a nice lil system installed now. Just a temporary setup though. Single JL Audio 12w6d4v2 mounted in a 15" cube that was given to me for free being pushed by an original Audiobahn A1300HC. That's the chrome and gold one, when they actually made one of the best amps money could buy and before they started putting stupid flames on everything. The 5 farad cap helps a little bit with dimming lights. I still need to put in the alternator I yanked from the 735 at the yard. I forget how many amps both are, but I know the one from the 735 was significantly higher output. I _MIGHT_ spring for a lukebox and amp rack, but I want to get a black leather rear seatback with armrest first (without taking the one out of my 318). The whole setup doesn't weigh much at all, yet kicks enough that I can't see shit in my rearview mirror. :-D

Can someone suggest a paint to use on my valve cover that will match the blue from the BMW logo? I'm thinking I might paint one up and throw it on when I do my valve job.

I used Duplicolor Perfect Match Ford blue for my old valve cover.

Time for an update... I ended up getting the Christmas special on a 12 inch lukebox and amp rack, but last Sunday I fried my 12w6. Gotta send it back to JL to get fixed. Getting it fixed will cost me $5 MORE than I paid for the speaker. Pretty sure it only blew because the box it's currently in is WAY too small. Haven't installed the lukey yet. Also upgraded to an Audiobahn A2200HC amp. It's the same amp I used to do competitions with back in 2000 when my 87 Camry had one of the loudest systems in my town.

I actually did some work to my car after my brake pedal went all the way to the floor on my way to work last month. Blew a seal or something in the brake proportioning valve, and of course the one I have is the MUCH more expensive one that's supposedly specific to 1987 with ABS. While I waited for a new one from Cali I decided to get some of the other stuff done that I've been meaning to do for years. While my car was on the lift I rented a 2013 Subaru that got hit by some drunk bitch that left the scene at 2am and the cop told me that I was bullshitting him. Story for another time... Also FINALLY have a working master cylinder installed so my brakes work as intended! First time EVER since I've owned the car! :-) (Well, besides the lack of e-brake for the moment)

So I swapped in some brand new control arms on both sides complete with hard poly Revshift M3 offset bushings. Got my Revshift poly engine and transmission mounts in place. The whole front of the car feels SOOOO much more solid now. I ordered a strut brace from IE a few weeks ago, and according to the tracking number that I just checked a few minutes ago was SUPPOSED to be delivered to my house on 1/13, but I know it never was, so I have some phone calls to make tomorrow. Also in that order were adjustable sway links, swaybar bushings, poly steering coupler, and tie rod ends.

While my car was on the lift I decided to try taking out the O2 sensor to see how fouled up it was... It's frozen solid forever and will not come out. It's probably the original one from 26 years ago. Now I suddenly get a check engine light every few minutes, and guess what the code is... Yep, O2 sensor. Haven't had a CEL in over a year, and now I get several every day. 1221 is the code IIRC. I wonder if that could be part of the reason my engine is running with a shit like quality. Reading was just off enough before to screw with how the engine runs, but not off enough to throw a code until I messed with it?

Considering MSD ignition. Read about a few e30's with 6al and blaster 2/3 coils and figured it probably wouldn't hurt to use the same.

Found a guy to do my bodywork. Gonna hopefully have everything fixed before GFest 2014. This guy has a pretty ghetto shop, but I've seen his work, and most of it is pretty decent. He said if I supply the hood, fender, and rad support, he will do the whole front end, and paint to match for $500. If I want the entire car done with all exterior rust patched up (bondo, not welding in new sheet) it'll run me around $1800. His price for the entire car is the same as the quote I got from a guy who said if I supply all of the parts and I do all of the work he will "only" charge me $1800 for fixing the front.... If I do all the work, WTF would I pay him for?

Still haven't installed my odometer gears. It'll be done in the next wave of repairs.

Well I'm gonna cut this short here due to a phone call I just got that severely pissed me the fuck off.

sounds like your throwing some nice parts at her, can't wait to see pics I'm sure your taking along the way. $1800 is a damn good price for some decent body work and complete respray. Sucks about the rental, hope you got Tue insurance.

Took picks with my phone, not the best, but I'll put them up eventually. Didn't get the rental insurance through Hertz, but according to TD Bank my credit card covers it.

Got around to having the exhaust put on a couple months ago. It's louder than a stock exhaust, but MUCH MUCH MUCH quieter than my falling apart exhaust that I just got rid of. Still got a ticket for it though. I have TWO mufflers installed and still got a "noisy muffler" ticket from a rookie cop. I have to look that up so I can fight it in court. Sucks I'll have to take at least a half a day off of work to fight such a BS ticket. I'll be losing more than I gain, but it's the point behind it. If I just pay it they'll keep giving me the same ticket. When I win my case in court, they won't be able to give me that ticket again. So it should be worth it in the end.

So yeah, this weekend I started working on my car some more. Got the rear springs and shocks in. Both shock mounts broke. Passenger side I was able to rig up with some extra washers. Drivers side actually broke when I was on my way home and the shock was hitting the underside of my rear deck! Went to NAPA and grabbed a temp mount while I'm waiting on my aluminum mounts to come from Turner. I ended up getting very pissed off at somebody at the shop when I was working on my car so I left before even touching the front. The back is sitting NICE now, but the front is still way up in the air. I figured I should probably wait until I get the front mounts (also on their way from Turner right now) before I start taking anything apart up there. Hopefully I'll get them by Wednesday so I can install them Thursday after work. Won't be able to do it on Friday because I'm leaving early to camp out at GFest.

Pics of the rear setup. Lovin it so far!
