The E36 rack will help you not have to do almost a 360 with your hands. Your thumbs hook into the wheel and your whole body contorts, that's not a very good thing for you or your reaction time.

Hah just posted this in another thread, but I went back to PS after going without for over a year on the stock rack. I think I was losing a lot of precision having to manhandle the car around on the school bus rack.

Yeah I honestly don't care for it either. I'll more than likely put power steering back in.

The facelift e46 steering rack is much quicker than e36! I think full to full torn 2.3 round...

Z3 is the same turns lock to lock, assuming the racks have equal travel. Is the E46 rack linear?

Wow, I haven't been on here in a while. Just transferred up to michigan and drove the bimmer the whole way from the florida keys. Learned how crappy the roads are in many states and just how much abuse my exhaust can take. Car is still running strong, but will unfortunately have to become a seasonal vehicle now that I live in a state with more than one season.

Yeah, that's just it. The car has only one spot of any rust at all and I've already prepped and sealed it. My buddy has a huge garage on his property with a lift, so winter will more than likely bring on a full suspension refresh. She's due for it.

I have a Florida car, and it's full of rust! I guess that's what 6 years with a truck full of water gets you... :(

Definitely get yourself a beater! Your car is awesome; it would be a shame to see the weather do any kind of damage...

I've heard coastal cars can rust similar to Midwestern cars from the salt in the air. Makes sense I suppose.
