Getting the ass end mocked up. Turns out the trunk pan I bought isn't a full pan...you can see the gap between the fenders and the edge of the pan on both sides...ugh. Doesn't look like you can buy just that part either, so my options are either buy another full pan ($$$) or Fab filler panels and weld them in which is probably what's going to happen.

gah I wish I could get all that fresh metal for the E30. It's so nice and sexy. So well painted from the factory too!

you can still get just about every piece of sheet metal for an e30 new from the dealer, down to the roof. Is it worth what they charge? Probably not while there are still so many good shells to salvage from.

Probably. Why not just cut one from a donor car?

Re: Project Phoenix - A Chevelle rises from the ashes
True. not many ppl around me are parting out E30s though. Plus if you cut that part out, it isn't a rolling shell anymore. Makes it harder to haul to a junk yard.

Re: Project Phoenix - A Chevelle rises from the ashes
I was wondering. Some guys seam seal. Full welding takes out the give. I dunno much about that level of body work lol.

Re: Project Phoenix - A Chevelle rises from the ashes
yeah this extent of bodywork is new to me too. Most of what you see will be fully welded or leaded in, the rest will be stitch welded with some seam sealer.
