FAWK!!!!!!!! Pretty sure I just ruined the new CSB. How the hell are you supposed to get them on? I cleaned up the surface on the driveshaft for it, but I pretty much had to beat the crap out of it with a hammer to get it on. And now it doesn't want to rotate freely at all, and still isn't quite all the way on.

Technically, you're supposed to use a special press. I'm lazy so I put a flat tip on the inner part of the bearing and slowly hammer on. If you hit the center, you'll dent the part that lets the bearings spin without interference. It should spin uniformly and fairly freely when you're done with it. There should be no visible damage outside of a few scuffs. IE dents bad. Sounds like you killed it. Sorry man, shoulda warned you...

Yeah pretty sure I did too. I was thinking today, I should have just took the old one and placed it over the new one, and red on that.

I haven't changed one of these yet so I'm not sure of the bearings design. But if its like any other, would a socket of the same size as the inner race work?

Problem is that you have the splined section of the driveshaft the bearing slips over first before the surface it's supposed to sit on.

I did find a great way to take it off, 3 jaw puller worked beautifully. Much better if, like in my case, the outer metal ring/support had fallen off, and only the bearing itself and part of the rubber ring remained.

Ah I see. Then pipe would work nicely like tony said. I hate when a special tool is needed or has to be made to so something on a vehicle.

Tony, proper diameter meaning the same diameter as the inner race of the bearing, correct?

Welp, got the (2nd) new CSB on, correctly, today. After pulling the old one off, it seemed to rotate just fine, maybe it wasn't bad like I thought... oh well. Took it for a little spin around the block since it isn't plated/insured yet just to make sure it's worth doing that stuff Monday. Felt good, the M10 is honestly more peppy than I thought it would be. Had the car a wee bit sideways within 10 mins of getting her all back together lol. Although the 760 treadwear tires (yes you read that right, and no, I didn't know tires existed that hard either) may have had a bit to do with it.

There are some issue though. Still need to get the gauge cluster back in, it's all put together just need to put it in the car. The passenger door handle decided to go on strike (exterior, interior is missing) but then started working later. Lights were still aimed at the ground, I fiddled with them a bit after the drive, but I am pretty sure I maxed out the adjusters and they still aren't right. I think I am going to have to pull the whole headlight assemblies off and see what's going on. But overall a fun car to toss around, and the ride is sooo soft haha.

Glad to hear you got it running! Now for the hard part, waiting in line to deal with registration and plating....
