lol, I completely missed the irony in that when I posted it. If it makes it any better, I wasn't trying to get it sideways... Just thoroughly putting the suspension through it's paces to make sure it's safe to drive...

Haven't updated this in a bit. First off, clusters... ugh. Put the rebuilt one originally from the car back in, and the speedo works intermittently and not very often, odo not at all. Tried an eta cluster I have for parts, no speedo either, tach is goofy because of the different coding plug. Tried a motometer (the other 2 are VDO) 'i' cluster from the parts car I had, speedo works (yay!) odo doesn't, tach is off again because of the coding plug. I've been told that you can swap speedo's between clusters, so I may end up doing that. Just have to put a new set of gears in that one too, ugh.

After playing with that, I worked on driver's comfort seat I was going to swap in in place of the torn up sport seat. The comfort seat had a weird lean to it, turned out the from for the seatback itself was bent, ended up having the joy of swapping the foam and vinyl over to a good seatback. That is a huge PITA, especially when the two rames aren't quite the same in how they hold the vinyl on. Got it back together and in the car, but I have decided I hate the way the comfort seat feels, I may be looking into trying to recover these sport seats with cloth eventually, maybe try making covers myself...? That could be an adventure. Mid seatback frame swap:

Since then I got the car insured and plated, and I have been driving it a fair bit. Entertaining to drive, has a lot of quirks. For one, the driver's window fell off the track, turns out the bracket at the bottom of the window glass itself cracked in half, awesome. Anyone know if you can replace these seperate to the glass or no? Right now it just kinda sits on top of the regulator, works for now. Lights are still an atrocity, going to try and dig into that tomorrow. On the bright side, the 4 doors make for a great tire hauler!

That's 6 205/50/15's side by side in the back seat lol.

I'm interested in how the seat stuff goes. Might want to redo my sport seats in the red car one day.

The speedo will swap out pretty easily. The tach is probably just broken gears. Normally is anywho.

I agree with Yoshi on all accounts. I'd go cloth on them there sport seats, I swear its super comfy and it's relatively cheap. Also, I wish I had a 4 door E30, I seem to be liking them a lot more lately! I do enjoy my little 318is though : )

This is honestly the first 4 door vehicle I have ever owned. I still like 2 door E30's better, but you can't beat how much easier it is to load up a 4 door with stuff.

Yeah, and I love driving my E30 enough that I would prefer a highway setup with a better diff than the 4.10 and 4 doors for the baby and wife. I'm just happy you're enjoying it though : )

Glad to hear you're enjoying yours as well. That reminds me, I still need to see what diff this has in it, I'm curious.

Get some cloth seat covers from the Artisan, I think he's still around?

Got the headlights aimed correctly yesterday. Ended up being a very simple fix, on sealed beams there is 2 adjusters and a spring that hold the indivual lights into the housing. On the driver's side the spring was gone, passanger side the spring fell off one side. 30 minute $free.99 fixes are the kind I love!

Also took a peek today to see what diff was in it, I knew it was an open diff and figured it was a pretty high ratio. Turns out it's a 3.91, any idea what the other markings mean?

Looks like 5 1/2 but that 3.91 is pretty high, mine has a 4.10 open. Interestingly the small engine cars here 99% had open diffs...
