the latch can be replaced. You shouldn't have to glue your glove box back on. I'd expect that from honda but not bmw.

yep, just like every e36 I've driven/ridden in had loose door cards. They used the cheapest single use plastic clips to hold them on, I mean seriously, why would you go from such a solid design in the e30 to that for an e36? It doesn't even seem like the e30 design would cost more to produce, its just a better design.

The E30 ones are technically single use too IIRC. But they usually work more than once lol.

Speaking of the door panel clips...

Most of mine were broken, and the bottom of the door panel was affixed with a wood screw...

I took the door panel off to try and fix the window. Turns out the clips holding the regulator to the window broke, and it looks like the moving regulator bent itself at some point. I was able to get the regulator straight enough to allow the window to come down, but it needs help raising correctly. The bent regulator arm causes it to go up crooked.

Sounds like a good time for a manual window conversion.

Maybe for the next owner. I got it back together with the remaining clips (sans wood screw) and put a "For Sale" sign in it. I've gotten 2 calls so far, and one of the callers is coming to look at it tomorrow afternoon. I made him aware of the issues, but he didn't seem to concerned with them.

They always say that man... Hopefully all goes well but I really do appreciate that my 318is is manual windows when I see all the E36s in the auto skills with broken window regulators.

Welp, the car sold yesterday for my full asking price ($2500). I was hoping this thread was going to be a little more eventful, but I guess the upside will be some exciting things coming to my E30 build thread :)
