I would think in serious builds a good machine shop can add replaceable bearings to the cam tray.

I hadn't thought of that. You're probably right. I wonder if the lack of bearings is a cost thing, or if its beneficial in some other way.

Probably a cost thing. I don't see any benefit over true replaceable bearings.
