Brother's S52 OBD2 swap

Postby Yoshi » Tue Oct 20, 2015 11:25 am

My brother has had an E30 with no motor for like 5 years. Finally he bought an S52 the other day and is hell bent on an OBD2 swap. So I think I'll document stuff here about mainly the OBD2 stuff and I suppose eventually update my write up for the OBD2 stuff.

Took a few hours out to help brother prep the motor to be put in. We really wanted to get the motor in but the asshole lost the oil pickup. Couldn't get the oil pan on so nothing went into the car. So far pretty smooth though. Only had to do 1 parts run since he hasn't worked on a car in so long he had nothing but standard wrenches and only one ratchet (that liked to stop working). Hopefully it gets in soon.

I'd like to point out my brother has made 0 progress. At least the money not used on this is going towards his dream house with a nice garage. Jealous? no...

That's slightly more progress than I've made on my black 87 325is. Ooh, I did put air in both passenger side tires last week. lol

I think my brother has yet to do that too. The tires on the car are like 20 years old.

I think the tires on my DD are about that old. Both front tires (the same week) decided to develop tennis ball sized growths on the tread area. I should take pictures of the one that's still on the rim with air in it.
