I haven't sat in my 85 e30 in at least 4 or 5 years if that makes you feel any better. I don't know if I EVER sat in my black 87 325e.
Schwarz 5-speed 87 325is (newest project)
Arktisblau 5-speed 86 325e (current DD)
Schwarz 5-speed 87 325e (parts car/LS1 swap?)
Gazellenbeige automatic 85 318i (70,000 miles)
Alpine white 5-speed 87 325is (my first e30, possibly for sale)

I should probably make a point of sitting in all of my cars more often. I may be losing 2 or 3 of them very soon. :-(

Hey man. I learned how to swap out the child seat bases quickly. So the only car that I can't put it in, is the E30. But that's ok.. his neck won't be strong enough for a while.

We just bought bases for every car. What seat did you get? Gavin is about to move into a regular car seat so if you have the same brand you can have the three bases we have.

We got the Greyco one like this: Image

I don't think the bases expire, just the seat. When the kids get older they go into a more conventional seat like this: Image

If you had a Greyco I'd give you the bases so you could just click the car seat into whichever car your driving at the time.
