Driven one? Yes, quite a few years ago. I was looking for an E30 but found an E21. It was a 320i, I think. Fun car, great brakes, I wanted to buy it, but not for $5000, so I've never owned one.

While you're here, can you explain the main suspension differences between E21s and E30s? IIRC the rear suspension is only minorly different but the fronts are something very different.

Details on the new 2.9 you built? Thats pretty impressive HP for an NA m20.

The main difference with the front suspension is the bottom arms, the e21 is more conventional style with single arm, the sway bar is fixed to the front chassis rails and also acts as the radius rod to keep the front arm in position very simple, it has lots of big rubber bushings which need changing for lurethene if you want to improve the handling. The rear is much the same as e30 but it has a full coil over shock instead of the spring sitting on the arm

my new engine has our own itb intake and roller cam, head is a 731 casting with 44 and 36 valves lots of port work, crank is a usdm m3 with 86mm stroke, aftermarket H rods and 85mm flat top CP pistons, headers and exhaust are custom stainless

Im assuming your power is made inbthe head work? Nothing else in that setup seems out of the ordinary for an m20 stroker. Whats this about a custom cam? specs?
