As a newbie, please help me identify this.

I was under the car yesterday and I noticed this thing? What is it? Ignore all the holes in my exhaust.

That's supposed to be a hanger for your exhaust. For some reason your exhaust seems to be running away from it though.

Dang, that can't be good. Is the exhaust suppose to be running through that rubber? I need to get my exhaust & muffler replaced because I have bunch of holes.

Any suggestions?

on the factory pipes, there's a hook that links up to the bottom of that donut. Though, the exhaust in that picture doesn't look factory.

As far as replacements go, I don't recall any places that make/sell them without paying an arm and a leg these days. Know anyone that welds? Can just DIY.

The rubber hanger can be had at many places for pretty cheap. I got a couple from Pelican, but don't remember exactly what they cost. Yeah, the metal piece that attaches between the pipe and the hanger you'd have to get welded in place. Your best bet would probably be to go to any decent muffler shop and let them do their thing. Before you do that though, you should decide if you want to have a stock or performance exhaust. If you want to upgrade anything now is the time to do it. If not, the shop can just weld on some stock size pipe, attach new hanger, and call it a day.

PS, your exhaust looks SO MUCH better than mine. Mine has more hole than metal right about now. :-P

I thought I only had a minor hole in the pipe. oh boy was I wrong when I got under there. Even my muffler is shot.

If the pipes are ok, you might as well just but some generic flowmaster or something and weld that bitch on there.

I think I'm going to replace everything from behind the catalytic converter to the tip.

Just take it to an exhaust shop and have then do a cat-back on it. If you have the coin you can get Scorpion from BavAuto for around $400 with new rubber hangers. That's what I have on my car and it sounds awesome, and is quality stainless, Follows factory routing and mounting points.

I had a scorpion. it was a "catback" but it required welding. Plus is discontinued so I think they charge you more to dust off the jig. dislike very much

Since I live in the Great White North, I probably won't buy anything from the states.

What do you guys think of this?

That'll work. Still should be welded in though.

as long as you can save the collector from you current exhaust that will work, aside from not using Tue factory mounting points.
