Clutch question

Postby Rick » Fri Mar 23, 2012 11:09 pm

Since im R&R ing my tranny, Im thinking I might do something with the clutch. The clutch I have only has like 12k miles. Was thinking on replacing the disk and TO bearing only, and just surfacing the pressure plate. OR...

Any word on these?

Also, how does an unsprung disk feel to drive?

Im going to autox this summer, sooo what would you recommend?

don't get random brands. unsprung is harsh on the drive train but not necessarily the driver. If you have a dual mass flywheel, you won't even notice it. I suggest a spec stage 3. But if you're NA just stick with a spec stage 2.

I wouldn't go with no name stuff off ebay when it comes to clutches, stick with brands that have been proven, especially if plan to do performance driving.

I haven't seen them last more than a few hundred miles. It's been proven crap.
