Nice pics, looks like the weather sucked though. Have you done the VIN decoder here? It should tell you if there are any really rare options on that car.

The weather was actually really nice, just windy as fuck. I'm pretty sure I used one of the dozens of BMW vin decoders before I bought it. Don't remember what the results were. If I did it I probably posted it on here somewhere.

Got any engine bay shots? I wanna see motor swaps!

You thought wrong on that. My early 318 doesn't have them. In fact, there were only 4 cars in the entire show that had them. Mine, 1 other hard top, and 2 verts.

Sadly no engine bay shots. For some reason only like 3 people popped their hoods, and I didn't see much that I felt I needed to capture in pictures. I should have taken some anyway though for the rest of us. My bad. Next year.

Shit bitch, I DEMAND people pop their hoods. You can't really tell much about a car just by walking around it. You can ask but popping the hood says SO much about a car.

Hmm, I might still have access to those back seats. Maybe I can sell them for a sexy profit.

Here goes results from bmwvin.com

Vehicle information
VIN long WBAAE5407G0989502
Type code AE54
Type 325E (USA)
Dev. series E30 ()
Line 3
Body type LIM
Steering LL
Door count 4
Engine M20
Cubical capacity 2.70
Power 0 <--- I know it's an E, but it's not THAT slow!
Transmision HECK <--- Oh heck, it's a manual!
Gearbox MECH <--- What's the difference between a transmission and a gearbox??
Colour ARCTISBLAU METALLIC (045) <--- Where can I find production numbers for regular e30 colors? I can only find e30 m3's and e36-current.
Upholstery PACIFIC LEDER (0204) <--- Did they ever make sport seats that color? If so, do want! Comfort seats are SO _UN_comfortable!

Prod. date 1985-12-03 <--- December 3rd, 1985? Why did I think this was from March 86?

Order options
No. Description
209 LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIAL (25%)
210 ANTI-BLOCKIER-SYSTEM ( ABS ) <--- Must remember to disable before the snow comes around.
219 SPORT LEATHER STEERING WHEEL <--- eh, I like the wheel in my IS better, but at least it doesn't have an air bag.

540 CRUISE CONTROL <--- How on earth do you set your cruise? Is there a light that should come on when it's on?
551 ON-BOARD COMPUTER II W REMOTE CONTROL
675 BMW SOUND SYSTEM <--- So premium... Not so much so with the stock head unit though.
840 HIGH SPEED SYNCHRONISATION <--- Like it will sync with my gmail account? lol!

As far as the OBC alarm, if I remember correctly I was told it was a special dealer installed option. I haven't been able to find anything about it online yet. Perhaps I should look up the BMW part number that I'm sure is on it somewhere. I have to remember to take pictures and put in build thread when it's light.

not all arm rest seats had the opening to accommodate the ski pass. my 2nd e30 was actually pretty rarely optioned with rear head rests, arm rest, ski pass, and a husco arm rest up front. Also had a cup holder. I didn't know how rare that stuff was back then, sold the car for like $1200, lol.

Yeah, but all you have to do is take out the trunk liner and kick the perforated metal plate. Mmmmm, cup holders...

and cut the backing from the seat. Non ski pass seats had fabric behind the arm rest. The cup holders sucked, both in the husco and the wire one that attached on the trans hump next to the passengers legs. The Husco was pretty comfy in terms of an arm rest though.

This morning I found out the rear armrest is removable. I noticed the fabric behind it, but I thought it looked removable as well. Fabric isn't usually hard to cut through anyway.
